Market leader The trust of our customers in us and our products has enabled STAR Micronics to become the market leader in Germany for Swiss type automatic lathes. In Germany more than 3,000 "stars" are installed. This enormous number opens up new challenges.
- 2008
New priorities STAR Micronics sets new priorities: climate protection, energy efficiency, noise insulation and the RoHS guidelines are actively implemented with the new star* CNC automatic lathes.

SR-20RIII The new star* CNC automatic lathe SR-20Rlll is presented at the 7th OPEN HOUSE in Neuenbuerg, Germany. Quick, quiet, environmentally friendly, economic.
ECAS-20T In September at the EMO 2007 trade fair in Hannover the new star* CNC automatic lathe ECAS-20T is exhibited. Star Micronics grows to 34 employees.
- 2006
Raffle On 31st March, 2006 Star Micronics raffles the star* Mini. The winner is the company "Gebr. Kümmerle GmbH" in Rheinfelden.
Jubilee 10th anniversary of Star Micronics. 26 employees and 1 apprentice are employed by Star Micronics.
- 2005
Sales figures 5000 star* CNC automatic lathes have now been sold in Europe. 2000 automatic lathes delivered in Germany.
- 2004
Milestones There are now more than 1850 star* CNC automatic lathes sold in Germany. LAGRO is appointed sales representative for Scandinavia.
New company name LAGRO is renamed Star Micronics GmbH on 1st July, 2004. A new dimension for long turning: the ECAS 32T.
- 2003
Milestones In 2003 more than 1700 star* CNC automatic lathes are sold. Annual sales of more than 100 machines are achieved. 24 persons are employed by LAGRO. The second OPEN HOUSE is held at the LAGRO premises. LAGRO is appointed sales representative for the Benelux countries.

SR-32 The 1500th star* CNC automatic lathe, type SR 32, goes to the company Robert Weber GmbH, Gosheim.
- 2001
Open house The first OPEN HOUSE on the company premises. The OPEN HOUSE presents the star* CNC automatic lathe SI-12. The ECAS 20 is launched on the market.
Company premises Reconstruction and modernisation of the company building.
- 2000
Milestones The 1250th star* CNC automatic lathe, an SA 12/16, goes to the company "Präzisionsdrehteile Barchfeld GmbH". LAGRO grows: 20 employees serve to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. The OPEN HOUSE is organised in co-operation with the company Britsch GmbH, Pforzheim.

Milestones The 1000th star* CNC automatic lathe, type SR 32, is sold to the company Leibold & Amann.
Digitalisation The internet is embraced: LAGRO presents the company on more than 50 pages in the internet. A valuable and up-to-date platform for star* CNC automatic lathes.

New management Michael Seibold takes over the company management at LAGRO.
- 1996
Transfer to STAR Micronics Robert Grob sells the LAGRO company to Star Micronics, represented by the President Akio Suzuk.
Jubilee Sale of the 750th star* CNC automatic lathe, type SR-32, to the company Grimm, Gosheim. SV-20: The first CNC automatic lathe in the SV series with 8 axes.

KNC-32II star*CNC automatic lathes are characterised by continuous engineering innovations. KNC-32II: New control system with additional vertical axis for the turret.
- 1986
Milestones Service is in the ascendency: In 1986 a further service technician is engaged. The LAGRO team now consists of 5 employees. KNC-16/20: The superlative machine! With 7 axes and 26 tool stations.
- 1985
Werner Schweizer Werner Schweizer starts his long career as a self-employed sales representative. He is decisive for the overall success of the company (1985 to 1999).
- 1984
Developments Mrs. Grob takes up employment in her husband's company and initially manages the telephone switchboard before later working on administrative duties. First exhibition at a trade fair: LAGRO exhibits the JNC-16 at the Fameta trade fair in Nuremberg.
- 1983
Premiere The introduction of overlapped machining. LAGRO is granted the complete sales territory for star* CNC automatic lathes in Germany, including commissioning and service. From then on the company sells exclusively star* CNC automatic lathes. VNC-20: Worldwide the first CNC automatic lathe with simultaneous front and back working (overlapped machining).
- 1981
Milestones Star Micronics exhibits at the Hanover EMO trade fair in Europe for the first time. The Brown & Sharp company based in Zürich becomes star* representative for the whole of Europe. Eugen Brühwiler, managing director of the Swiss company transfers the star* representation for the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg to Robert Grob. The company Hutzel GmbH, Stuttgart orders the first SNC-15 from LAGRO, one of the first star* CNC automatic lathes in Europe.
- 1980
Adolf Kirschenhuber Adolf Kirschenhuber, a man present at the start: Technical sales manager and first service technician for LAGRO. The team consists of 3 employees.
Separation The company founders decide to separate: Adolf Lang dedicates himself to trading exclusively with used machine tools. Robert Grob becomes the sole shareholder of the company LAGRO. Sales activities concentrate on new machines, mainly with cam-controlled automatic lathes.
- 1979
Founding On 1st January, 1979 the company "LAGRO Werkzeugmaschinen und Handels-GmbH" is founded by Adolf Lang and Robert Grob. The company trades exclusively with used machines, and in particular with automatic lathes. The company premises are situated in an empty building belonging to the former Falk textile factory in Neuenbuerg, Germany.
